Travel the Gravel

Normally, when beginning a body of work, I have an extensive research process where I gather tons of archival material like newspaper articles, google searches and photographs. However, as a participant of Invisible Borders I was challenged to re-think my process. I was pushed to photograph in a more intuitive way than before, on a journey like this I didn’t have much of an idea of what I was looking for so I had to be open to anything and anyone that came my way. Being able to watch Emeka Okereke’s film ‘I Wonder As I Wander’ on the third day of the road trip was very useful in helping me adopt a more intuitive style of making images.
